As far a great shampoos and conditioners for ethnic hair is concerned, I'm afraid I'm not much help. But I know a lot of women of all colors (including myself) who swear by weekly treatments of herbal cholesterol and olive oil. I have curly hair that get brittle very easily, and I use Natural Instincts "Break's Over" shampoo and conditioner plus weekly 30-minute treatments of herbal cholesterol and olive oil.

If you can get products off the internet...I really recommend buying from Carol's Daughter. It will make your hair not only beautiful, but your hair will grow. I use it and everyone thinks I wear a weave. However, occasionally I do. But my real hair is long and healthy.

I heard a great tip once:

Very curly hair should be washed no more than once a week. You can have showers and massage a good conditioner into it, but don't shampoo. When you do shampoo, only put it on your scalp (the rest will get cleaned from the run-down) and use a recovery treatment that says it's for damaged or dry hair.

Obviously professional products are going to be better for your hair. My favorites are the Redkin All Soft line. They provide great moisture. On the other hand, I know it's supposedly not good for your hair, but Pantene makes my hair look really good, and so does the drug store like "Samy" moisture conditioner.

For product, use hair straitening cream even if you are wearing your hair curly. It really de-frizzes better than products that say they're for curls. Put straitening cream in and "rake" you hair with your fingers.

A good Cut will help your hair look best in its natural state so you don't get stuck spending hours in front of the mirror working on it.

Use Revlon Professional Equave moisturizing shampoo. It's not too expensive. U can get it at any hair salon. It's awesome. And the oil...I suggest u Schwarzkopf Gliss Asian Beauty moisturizing care oil with lotus and soy. I'm not sure the second one is available in America, bu t I don't live there so I don't know.
