Flat ironing after relaxer?

I have African American relaxed hair and I was wondering can you flat iron (or is it safe to flat iron) your hair a day after you have just relaxed your hair??I want to know because I am going to relax my hair tomorrow and plan on flat ironing it on Sunday.

yeah you should be ok i flat iron my daughters hair after she permed but it was a just for me it shouldnt be no different though

NO NO NO .don't do it or you just may loose your hair.The relaxer should give you the desired results so that you will not have to do anything else to your hair other than style and go.

make sure your using a REAL ceramic flat iron, not the cheap ones that are only plated with a thin coat of ceramic, those are damaging to your hair. But at my old hair salon, they would relax your hair, roller set so it can dry properly then flat iron, my hair always looked beautiful and healthy and havent had a problem. Ceramic irons are perfectly safe on relaxed hair

yes you can do it but you don't want to overprocess you hair...but hahah i do it all the time and my h air doesnt fall out. make sure you put something like thermasilk or something o prevent it from heat damage before u straighten it though.

I would suggest that you do not flat iron your hair a day after relaxing because that may cause uneccessary breakage.Try putting your hair in velcro rollers.That works for me when I dont want to straighten my natural hair all the time.Another thing you could try is to try wrapping your hair at night using setting lotion.Put a silk scarf on at night to protect the hair and comb it out the next day.Since your hair is already sensitive after getting the perm,this is a safer option.
