Why are they worried so much about my hair?

Okay,I am a African American girl and I decided that I wanted to go natrual with my hair.It is really thick and its growing.The girls in our class keep acting like bitches and telling me that I need a perm when I don't want one. I keep telling them that over and over and yet they keep saying my hair needs a perm.Why are they so worried about my hair and not focused on their own hair.People says it looks unique but still,why are they paying soo much attention to me?Why are they giving me so much hell about it?

They're bored and there is nothing else around them that they can focus their attention on. Unfortunately their opinions are aimed in your direction and they're not very nice. Most likely they have ADD and will find something/someone else to ridicule tomorrow.

Its school, girls are always going to try and run you down. Whatever makes them feel better, they are going to do. If you like your hair, who cares what they say. Blow it off, or make a smart comment back.

i had that problem. you are correct about the perm it damages you hair and turns it a sickly green if it is applied too many times . you can look up hair styles that you can wear with out a perm. im not a african american but i do have a little bit of african american in me so i have a perm but i had to wait for yaers to get it. just keep miosturing it and then if your up to it do what i do get a perm twice a year. that way you give your hair healing time. it works.

It sounds like you might be dealing with typical schoolyard bullies that need to make someone else feel bad in order for them to feel good. Girls can be the absolute worst, with their psychological bullying. I know it might sound hard to do - I've been there and I am still happy to be done with school! - but never change yourself just to make someone else happy. You will only regret and be miserable. If you like your hairstyle and are happy with it and how it looks, rock it, girl! Keep your head up and smile, and don't let some girls with nothing better to do make you feel bad. You are happy with yourself, the insecurities lie with them!
