Why are black kids in commericials actually mixed with wild hair?

I was watching cartoon network and disney channel. They don't have traditional black kids sponsoring their products. Majority of the kids look mixed because they have like a light brown hair color? Whats up with that ? I want the kids to relate to the african american community more lol

Because of so many interacial relationships I guess...

Probably has a lot to do with marketing tactics too.

I think they are all so beautiful no matter what shade...but Michael Jackson just might be the exception there.........hmmm...

Why are black kids in commericials actually mixed with wild hair?

Because America is scared of dark people.

Why are black kids in commericials actually mixed with wild hair?

because companies find that they appeal to everyone not just one race. now why the hair is wild i dunno maybe the stylist thought it was cute which it is not. my daughter is mized and her hair never looks that bad. trust me i feel you. but there are some black kids out there like the little boy in the oscar meyer commircial sure he has a tiny part but he made his present known.

That is not true I am seeing allot of little dark black kids in advertisement's just look at the pampers bag.

I feel you totally. I think the media is trying to pacify us with what most of us see as a black child but we dont think long enough to see the children are still durn near white. we accept things that are close to what we want thinking we cant get better.Peace

They are like that.

What can you do it is hereditary.

You will only see darker kids on BET or sports commercials.. On the other channels they need to 'water down' our ethnicity in order to appeal to the soccer moms. They don't want that type of aggressive marketing. It's sad...

That's because they want you to be able to identify with that person. The actors they choose for advertisements could be African American, White, Hispanic or even Asian. Usually they are light skinned but not too fair. They have light brown, curly or wavy hair.

Maybe that's what the sponsors wanted to promote their product. Maybe they've done testing and found this type of marketing works the best. Maybe their commercials are based 100% on a business decision. Money is what makes the world go round.

Because inter racial people to white people are black, but not too black. Remember who is selling you these things you see, corporations run by old white people.

It's like this: Why is hair straightener called relaxer when african americans use it, so white people can relax.

Then you better tune in to BET. You know how it is, light skinned wiry haired black people have always been more acceptable to white america. Hell, black america too.

I noticed that too. Most of the blacks in commercials these days look like smaller versions of the wrestler Carlito, and boy do I hate that guy.

I go for auditions for things like that....there are just alot of mixed children there...ALOT...I dunno but yeah lol...it's just like woah o.o

It depends on what's being sold, but you're right. The mixed kids are everywhere. The main reason is because these children are adorable; the fine hair and pretty skin; i.e. good hair and skin. It's easier to market this type of child as a representative of a variety of communities. Another reason is that mixed children comprise a market that we seldom think about. As a teacher, I see more and more mixed children, usually of black or African-American and some other descent, come through our classroom door. These children are an ever increasing population, they are hot, what's in, and they are reaching out to the African-American community. In many cases they ARE apart of the community!
