It sounds weird, but, trimming your hair regularly (every six weeks)makes it grow tons faster. When your hair has breakage at the ends, when it grows out it only breaks more, causing totally unhealthy hair. Also remember, the longer your hair, the heavier your hair is, which causes more breakage. Get regular trims and you will see a huge difference.

First of all I would LOVE to see your hair!!! I havce read the answers prior to mine and though I am blonde, I have VERY curly, nearly nappy Victorain curls. which in the heat or a hat, can and will break off , then leaving me in the same boat as you. First off, DO have it trimmed. Allow your hair to go for several days, as many as 4 without washing it, and DO put it up at night, even if it's short. I recommend a Ponytail Tie, like you get from the Market in the beauty section....Stimulate the growth of your hair by tossing your head OVER and starting from the back where the 'Sebasious" glands keep what we call sweat, and then makes our hair feel and appear dirty....then stimulate the rest of the scalp...I also recommend a brush that is NOT a bristle brush, as they can tangle and i KNOW you dont want that. OH! do NOT brush your hair as tho youre punishing it. in doing what I recommend, it shouldnt take long to see a result. Aftert you have washed it I recommend Bain de Terre I think it is called, to soften it....and then maybe go 2 or 3 days without washing it....sometimes you simpoly MUST wash it every day. I know, I worked in the field of corporate high tech legal communications in Beverly Hills %26amp; I HAD to look stunning. Wghat I am telling you is what I have done to maintain it. Please dont get it trimmed every 6 weeks, it is NOT necessary......only when YOU feelit needs it..ok?

Now....put it up each night and in the morning allow it to fall.... on the day that you decide to wash it, make sure that yu have a GOOD "Clarifyiing Shampoo" ~ that is to "CLEAR all of the Sebacious glands off and leave your scalp feeling healthy. It IS important to not do this all of the time, although my recommendation is to use a GOOD Conditioner on it as well...one that fills the shaft of the hair and makes it easier to style..THAT YOU DEFINITELY want!!! Each day for a while you might wonder about this, but it strengthened my hair and MAN OH MAN did it grow!!!

I think that in allowing the ends to remain split and the tangling from an imporper brush, heck even a good Dog Brush (really) works quite well!...Remember to wash out your hairbrush every week or so, so as to NOT reintroduice old sebacious (from the word sebum, which is the name for the oil that comes out of the scalp) hence i use the word sebacious. I wish you well in this, and then use any softener that you desire...I think that Pantene which I use would be great for you!!!!!!! Both the Shampoo and Conditioner. One more thing, as far as a comb is concerned, and feels great to the scalp, use a wide toothed comb called a detangler....remember to alsways start from the nape of your neck...I do NOT believe in leaving anything in my hair all night long, trial and error on my part. Happy Hair to you and I wish you the BEST!.....
