What should I do With my hair?

I am an African American male and I have a mid-size afro, and I really would like to get that john legend look or just a softer look. I have looked desperately all over the web yet I can find nothing. Can anyone help me out? And to be perfectly honest I just want to know the options I have available to my hair; so if you have any suggestions as well feel free.

Hey, you should wash you hair and put some leave-in conditioner. This will make you hair soft and natural. If the leave in dries you hair up, you should try washing it and putting gel. I like to use leave-in because it makes my curls expand but stay tight. If that still dosnt works...go to a black hair salon :) Good luck babe

Personally I don't like afros they are played out in my perspective but you can rock any style you want. While I stick with hair cuts, maybe you should just grow it out.

Just try a texturizer. You can get them at any grocery store or beauty supply store. Texturizer help African American hair to have a softer look while maintaining its natural curl. I used on for years and loved it.
