The Cons of blow drying your hair.?

I am a 17 year old African American who has been blow drying my hair since the dawn of time. Last year I got my hair relaxed and I've still continued to blow drying my hair. Beside the silky soft and bouncy hair blow drying leaves you but there is also split ends and thinning of the hair. Is it true and what are other options? Thanks!

The Cons of blow drying your hair.?

yes it is actually and drying can leave you with completely dried out hair with no moisture and frizz. drying is ok maybe 1 or 2 or 3 times a week but more than that can do some damage to your hair. try leting it air dry for a week and youll notice better hair one step at a time

hope i helped%26lt;3

The Cons of blow drying your hair.?

use an oil based serum to protect the hair and smooth down the frizzies. (redken smooth down is wonderful). wash and style your hair only when you have to (when it looks dirty). blow drying doesn't really thin the hair that much, that is proably a result of the relaxer.

The Cons of blow drying your hair.?

Ok, I Know What You Mean... Well First When Blow Drying Your Hair You Should Put Something In It... I Usually Put A Little Hair Grease Or Let's Jam Power Shine. Then You Should Split Your Hair Into Sections, Like 4 of Them And Blow Dry Down From Root To Tip. Also Your Blow Dryer Shouldn't Be Too Hot, If It Is Your Burning Your Scalp Turn It Down. BTW The Hooded Blow Dryers Are The Best.

The Cons of blow drying your hair.?

For dry extremly texured hair your best bet is Biosilk, ( a natural alternative deep conditioning treatment prior to blowing is fresh cut avacado mushed up in a bowl or put in the blender %26amp; apply , especially the the ends.

2. After concotion, %26amp;/or conditioner is rinsed LIGHTLY detangle your hair from the ends FIRST, not from the root( alot of relaxed hair breakage occurs at this point). make sure you use a super wide tooth comb, but don't knock your self out combing, most of the detangling occurs when blow out section by section.

3.Put two capfuls of Biosilk in your hair %26amp; again cncentrate on the ends more than scalp. Even dry hair produces it's own oils , so don't put any directly on the scalp, you want the hair to bounce.

4. Ionic blowdryer should be used , make sure there is a basic nozzle included ( about $30). Start with the 1st section int the nape area. Use a good round brush with course boar bristles ( like the wooden brushes we use to smooth down edges.) After detangling the section completely run brush through hair stopping midway down the section. You should feel hair pulled straight from the root with brush a couple of inches from root. (tong brushes by Goody can help if this too difficult).

5. Hold dryer ( with nozzle attached [ no comb or brush attachments, pulls out way too much hair] to dryer of the roots until the roots are dry. This can take about 3 mins. but super important to dry roots 100% or else they start kinking back up by the time you get to the crown!

6. Now take a spray bottle %26amp; rewet the ends (extreme textures always have better results with saturated hair, agian takes more time, but results will last.)

7. Brush the round brush down to the ends then carefully %26amp; gently wind up the hair around the brush then place heat on hair %26amp; begin turning the brush under like a curling iron.

8. Lastly, using a good flatiron - I recommend CHI by Farouk -$150 but you'll have until college graduation! Now flat iron the section you just finished blowdrying starting from the root ( alittle more heat in that area especially if you're between relaxers. When you get to the ends put a tiny spray of water from your bottle (not too much, the sizzle %26amp; steam might burn your scalp even though you're on the ends I don't know how long your hair is.) This keeps it from over drying, dry on dry= breakage.

You should avoid tight ponytails, %26amp; should wash your hair a least ONCE a week, yes even after all the hard work! and AVOID Jam, greases, %26amp; pomades. These products along with bad relaxers %26amp; braids can clog the follicles and suffocate them. Clean hair doesn't attract dirt like grease does.

You gotta get a good haircut, %26amp; maintain the cut every 2 1/2 - 3 mos. With all your efforts you will see no good if the dead ends aren't cut regularly, I promise your hair shed like crazy %26amp; eventually you'll feel like your hair "won't grow". Ok now it's your turn, good luck darling!
