*keep you hair clean

*drink and eat healthy, you know, also exercise

*massage your scalp 1-2 times a day, (if u are caucasian or asian you probably do this everyday since you wash your hair almost everyday) it circulates blood flow, which helps stimulate growth

*keep your ends trimmed every 6-8 weeks, it doesnt make your hair grow, but you are keeping your split ends in control by keeping them cut, split ends break easier, they will break and make your hair look bad as they fall out, that happened to me mine were really bad, and my hair looked thin and terrible, now that i keep them cut my hair is growing long and it is thick.

but BRAIDS is the best way to grow our hair, i mean do all those things i mentioned and keep your hair braided you should see possibly 6 inches in one year maybe more , the fact that you wont be combing and brushing it everyday will be a big help in keeping the hair you grow!!!!

Keep your hair trimmed. Cutting off the split ends, etc. every 4 weeks or so will help it grow longer. The damaged part at the end is what splits and breaks and keeps it from growing.

I wouldn't use oil.. The best thing I've found is prenatal vitamins.. Theyre made for of course if your pregnant but they help make your hair grow and softer, they also help with nails and skin too. My doctor said theyre fine to take if youre not pregnant.. Theyre just vitamins they won't make you sick.

i'm black and i've never had head lice, the reason that lice are not commonly found in African American hair is that the hair is not washed very ofter (maybe 2 times a week). as u should kno, special shampoo in needed to get rid of lice. since people of other races wash their hair more frequenty (every day), the lice find it easier to move around.

Hello! My hair goes about past my shoulders. I want my hair to get a lot longer than that, maybe about past my breast and in the middle of my back. Unfortunately I don't know how to get it longer. I am also African American and don't know which shampoo products to use that will keep my hair healthier and get it long without it falling out. I don't use gel cause I'm scared my hair will fall out and it makes my head itch really bad.

Please don't wash your hair everyday. Not only will it not grow but it will dry out. I have long curly hair and its about to the middle of my back. I use panteen shampoo and conditioner, the one in the brown bottle (for women of color) or in the summer the one for moister. Don't shampoo more than once a week if you can help it. The panteen should keep your hair healthy. Also do a deep conditioner at least twice a month. Every 6-8 weeks get those ends clipped. That is the most important thing to do in getting you hair to grow out.

I'm kinda an expert on hair. Choose a shampoo that makes your hair healthy and smooth. healthy hair makes hair grow faster. Use the shampoo Suave or Head and Shoulders. there usually the best. ANd use conditionar twice a week so it will be nice and pretty, smooth, and especially healthy. wash your hair everyday and keep it healthy! .Brush your hair. And gel just keeps your hair up and just puts your hair in a style. SOmetimes it put white stuff in your hair. it wont really make your head itchy though. Hope this advice helps!

For the itching, try Sulpher8 lotion, shampoo and hair grease. Before a workout, put your hair back in a bandanna, that way it won't 'poof'. Then, while it is still in a bandanna, you may try drying it with a hand held hair dryer. Or, it may dry on it's own after awhile. Also try this:

Start with dry hair.. spray a texture/curl/sea spray product all over your hair from 10cm away. try something like:

- KMS Curlup Bounce Back Spray, Garnier Fructis Texturising Spray or GHD Sea Spray

Then grab random sections of your hair and twist them tight so they twist back on themselves.

Rub the twists up and down in a backcomb.

Respray the twists with the same product used first and leave for 10minutes to set.

Gently tousle the twists out loosely using only your fingers.

This is more a wavy style but yeh for nice curls try different diameters in Hot rollers and texturising hair spray and a product to frizz free spray to keep frizz down.
