I need help with growing my hair...my mom says it's in horrible shape, what should I do??!?

I am african american and hispanic. I have more black hair than hispanic hair. I cut my hair short with side bangs and it was really cute. But now I want to grow it out, problem is that my hair isn't growing out, it always seems to have split ends, breaks off and is dull. It's killing me because my hair can look good when i style it but other than that it looks ratty so I wear it up all the time and I think that contributes to my hair breaking. What should I do..I have this shampoo and conditioner called Aphogee, it works good. What heating appliances should I use(puffy hair) and how should i wear my hair? What to do, I'm so stressed. I want nice hair!!!

I need help with growing my hair...my mom says it's in horrible shape, what should I do??!?

I use organic root stimulator carrot grease and olive oil shampoo my hair was short and it grew it to shoulder length. Its all natural and its for black hair. To strengthen your hair and give it shine use jojoba oil. Also pink lotion moisturizer is good also to help stop breakage and to add strength. Also, stop blow drying your hair and wrap with a leave in conditioner like African Royal or African Pride. Heat does a lot of damage to black hair the leave in conditioner helps repair it. Also, African Royal is a daily doctor with everyday use you should see results in about a month or two. Good luck.

Listen you really need to check out this site blackhairmedia.com you will find lots of information. Be careful using Aphogee, if I am not mistaken this is not something you want to use every time you shampoo. Try cowashing (using only conditioner) like Sauve, VO5, Gariners. Braides are good to do when trying to grow your hair style out. But you need to learn more about growing healthy hair so plz visit the site.

Black person Light brown hair blond Streaks in hair? OK?

Hey whats up! I am black or african american but I am really light. Lighter than Beyonce. And I have green eyes and golden brown hair. I saw this girl on Degrassi that was black and sort of like me and she had blond streaks in her hair. Like where her bangs are. I think it looks really cute but Im not sure every one agrees with me. I would only streak or die parts of my hair. Small parts! Probley around my bangs or around there. And I think it would be nice. Is that fine? And my hair is not black its a golden brown type color. A really light color. Would it look ok? Please help and if you know any one who did this please tell me. Thanks!! =D

Black person Light brown hair blond Streaks in hair? OK?

Where you talking about liberty? I think it would look nice with the complexion you describe. But you shouldn't care what answers you get. If you think it looks good then who cares what everyone thinks. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder so, something that looks good to someone may not look that hot to another person.

Black person Light brown hair blond Streaks in hair? OK?

i think it would look awesome with your coloring. i think around your face would be perfect, add some spark to your eyes you know?

Black person Light brown hair blond Streaks in hair? OK?

Yes that would be fine but get highlights everywhere not just around the front and top. It would look better.

Black person Light brown hair blond Streaks in hair? OK?

sounds like it would be cute! try it out :)

Black person Light brown hair blond Streaks in hair? OK?

I think that would look nice.

Black person Light brown hair blond Streaks in hair? OK?

well, it seems fine to me!! your hair color now and the streaks would work great with your skin tone!!! im sure you would look fine!!

Black person Light brown hair blond Streaks in hair? OK?

It would look beautiful on you! Go for it!

Black person Light brown hair blond Streaks in hair? OK?

It sounds like it would look really cute! Go for it!

Black person Light brown hair blond Streaks in hair? OK?

Yea, go for it, girl! It sounds pretty. 閳?br>Black person Light brown hair blond Streaks in hair? OK?

I say yeah, just don't over do it, maybe honey blond streaks ?

or just 3 shade s lighter than you natural hair color I would say that for anyone who has dark hair ( unless of course you are going for a seriously dramatic effect)

Black person Light brown hair blond Streaks in hair? OK?

You should go with what you think would look nice on you and not worry what other people think. You sound beautiful.

I remember a young man asking me and some other young ladies in my classroom why we wear make up and get dressed up if we aren't going anywhere. It was a consensus that we like to look nice for ourselves and don't do it for anyone else. A lot of guys don't get that concept.

Women are vain. Even if just for themselves. Men actually created us to be that way. Look at the magazines, the tv, the movies, the videos. It's all out there. Women look good even at their worst.

Black person Light brown hair blond Streaks in hair? OK?

If your bangs are the audrey hepburn type you'll look terrible. However face framing side bangs wiuld be lovely! Just remember to layer the bangs by your facial features and make the longest layer end about two inches below your chin. The magic is always a combination of color and texture.

Black person Light brown hair blond Streaks in hair? OK?

First of all what no one has mentioned is if you have your hair relaxed or permed you should never, ever use any bleach or bleach type product on your hair. That is probably what you'd have to use. If you try to lighten your hair with just hair dye it will probably turn brassy (orangey). The person you saw probably had blond extentions added or did not have relaxed hair.

If you do bleach your hair and it's relaxed it WILL fall out, period. I know, I did it and my hair fell out. Yeah, the hair was a pretty color for the time before it all fell out, thank goodness I only did the bang area (now I have to wear extentions until my bang grows back in). I wish I could go back in time and not do it.

What color hair do you prefer???????????????

because im a light skinned african american and i have naturally sandy red hair, but i just put a temporary black dye in my hair, people think that i cant have sandy red hair, well most of my girl cousins have naturally sandy red hair and my sisters have brown hair, but people always ask is that your natural hair color? people are so stupid

What color hair do you prefer???????????????

You must keep the colour which you like the best, without paying attention to other楹搒 opinions....If you feel sure with your natural color, or a temporary one, what楹搒 wrong with that? Just be FREE...

What color hair do you prefer???????????????

I prefer to black color hair. That's my natural hair color. I think natural color hair is good and special. that's my opinion. =)

Anyway, I think red hair look cool too. Don't think about what people ask you because the most important thing is that you like your hair. Try black hair with some red hair highlighted. It will look great.

I hope my suggestions will help you. =)

What color hair do you prefer???????????????

brown/black

What color hair do you prefer???????????????

Hair color dosen't make a diffrence. Unless it's like green or purple.

What color hair do you prefer???????????????

i suppose your hair is really nice and really natural, so don't worry so much because it doesn't matter so much. of course is very important what people think about you, but more important than this is what do you think about people. it doesn't matter if they believe you or not on this subject. they are not all of them stupid. that's my opinion. maybe i'm also stupid. Ha ha ha. you're funny !

What color hair do you prefer???????????????

I've always liked blonds or redheads in my men.

What color hair do you prefer???????????????

well im italian and black and my hair is light brown with reddish highlights...naturally. i think it's actually disgusting so i dye my hair jet black. not because i care what anyone thinks.. but because i choose too.

once you get a little older you wont care what ignorant people think about you. i have been called everything from puerto rican, to mexican, to filipino....seriously. I personally dont care anymore... it used to bother me but who am i trying to please???? certainly not any hater who is judging me... so just shake all the hater comments off and enjoy being you....=]

What color hair do you prefer???????????????

anything really....depends on the face. My hair is naturally blonde, but first I dyed it dirty/dark blonde and now its brown and thats what looks best.

What color hair do you prefer???????????????

Brunette

What color hair do you prefer???????????????

Black is beautiful!!!!! I wouldn't have my hair any other way. I also have a red tone and dye it. i hate my natural it is brassy and the dye gives my hair nice texture and feel.

Are there hair salons in Strasbourg, France for Black Hair?

Hi! I'm African American and I'll be living in Strasbourg, France for six months next year. I have permed hair now and I'd like to know where I can get my hair touched up every few weeks while I'm in France. Does anyone have any black hair salon recommendations for Strasbourg? Paris? In other cities near Strasbourg? Thanks!

Are there hair salons in Strasbourg, France for Black Hair?

Hey my daughter studied abroad there while she was in college. You will find hair dressers that will accommodate all types and colors .....

Are there hair salons in Strasbourg, France for Black Hair?

I can't name a specific salon but trust me, there must be plenty giving the population in Strasbourg, which is your best bet in the area.

There is a African hair supply store on rue Faubourg de Pierre. They would know.

If you're American, there is an organization which will welcome you and perhaps you can direct your question there;

What color highlights should i get...?

im african american my hair kinda stops on my back it like kinda a light brown from the chemicals from perms so i was wondring wat color highlights i should get

What color highlights should i get...?

Streak your hair using Burnt Orange. That would be excellent!

What color highlights should i get...?

I have light brown hair too.... my hair stylist tends to like to put burgurndy highlights in my hair.... very pretty in the Autumn!

What color highlights should i get...?

I think you should get highlights like 2 shades lighter than the color you have now. So, I would have a lightener put on with foils with a fine weave but close together. You will then have to have them toned ( you will probably lift to a brassy orange color- don't fret) with a 7ash or 7Natural and 7ash together. I think it would be beautiful with your skin tone and it will be noticeable but won't grow out crazy bad!!!

What color highlights should i get...?

probally a redish color. anything in the red family.

What color highlights should i get...?

red highlights

What color highlights should i get...?

I saw a girl on this fotki album and i think her hair colores will look nice on you!

What color highlights should i get...?

a few shades lighter than your hair colour or red-brown or hazel....but your hair colour is really pretty already and i wouldn't put highlights in if i were you. you'll regret it when they start growing out.

good luck!!

What color highlights should i get...?

You don`t need any high lights...but you might want to get a really cool weave...maybe a really long and straight one...that would look really pretty on you!!!

What color highlights should i get...?

I think really thin highlights with like a dark cherry red color and a golden brown color would look really good on you

What color highlights should i get...?

hey my sister hair was that color but then she decided to put a burgundy color.you should try it.or a a lighter brown.streaks that is

What color highlights should i get...?

Caramel color highlights would look really pretty on you!

What color highlights should i get...?

definetly get red highlights!

The HAIR ON THE BACK OF MY HEAD IS REALLY FALLING OUT, HELP I NEED MY HAIR BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

read this:

FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall a lot? Don't worry, you're not alone. Millions of people from all around the world suffer from dry, brittle and weak hair. Some of the possible reasons for falling hair are:

Tension

Too much work

Illness

Poor diet

Over-exposure to the sun

Perming

Amateur bleaching

Too frequent and inexpert use of tints, rinses or other colourants

Here is what you can do to prevent hair fall

Shampoo regularly. Remember, a CLEAN scalp is a HEALTHY SCALP.

Brahmi amla oil also promotes hair growth.

A high protein diet with plenty of fruits, green vegetables and dairy products is a must.

Drink 10-12 glass of water everyday.

Use a very mild shampoo and condition your hair at least twice a week. When you do, make sure you rinse out the conditioner thoroughly, otherwise residue build-up will cause your hair to look limp and dull.

Know your vitamins! IRON is important for healthy hair and brittle, limp hair indicates an iron deficiency. Spinach has a good iron content, so gulp it down!

ZINC helps prevent hair loss and greying. Eat adequate zinc rich foods. Overweight people tend to have zinc deficiency, which is inversely related to the body mass index. Thus if you are overweight and if your hair falls too much, you may want to increase your intake of zinc containing foods. Recipes containing stone ground, wholegrain flour are rich in zinc.

A shortfall in VITAMIN B may cause dandruff, falling hair, loss of colour and could encourage grey hair. So B group Vitamins are essential for gloss, colour and thickness.

VITAMIN C ensures the health of capillaries supplying blood to hair follicles. Make sure your diet includes plenty of fresh fruits and veggies.

VITAMIN E encourages hair growth. Switch from refined flours to wholemeal and wheatgerm, eggs, vegetable oil.

COPPER stops hair from falling. Studies show that the copper content in the blood serum of people with falling hair is less than normal. Different types of alopecia (falling hair) are seen to have a deficiency of this important trace element. Include small quantities of nuts, especially cashews and peanuts, seeds, whole milk and beans in your diet as these contain minute but important amounts of copper.

Homemade remedies for preventing hair fall:

Apply almond oil on scalp and massage.

Grind fenugreek seeds in water and apply on your scalp. Wash off after 40 minutes. Do this every morning for a month 闅哣 if it suits you! Remember, different treatments suit different types of hair.

Massage warm castor oil + almond oil into your scalp gently. Wrap a hot towel around your scalp so it gets absorbed into the hair. Do this twice a week for healthy, shiny hair.

Add 2-3 drops of honey to a glass of water and use this as the last rinse after shampooing.

Quick Hair Care Conditioner

Mix 1 egg, 2 tbs castor oil, 1 tsp vinegar and 1 tsp glycerine. Beat until frothy and massage lightly into your scalp. Wrap your head in a hot towel, steam, then wash off. This conditioner makes hair thicker, shiny, soft and manageable.

Honey Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs (depending on the length of the hair), 1 tsp honey and 2 tsp olive oil. Massage gently into the scalp. Steam, and shampoo after an hour.

Alcohol Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs with 2 tsp brandy. Massage into your scalp. Leave for 10-15 mins. Rinse well. The egg nourishes your hair and brandy stimulates hair growth.

Your hair is a vital beauty asset, requiring constant loving care. And with a little nurturing, lush, glossy hair will be yours

ESSENTIALS FOR FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall often Arm yourself with these tools to combat hair fall.

Wide-toothed comb

Get yourself a wide-toothed comb. This is probably one of the most important yet underutilized of all hair tools. A wide-toothed comb helps you distribute conditioner evenly all over your hair while shampooing and conditioning. In addition, it also helps get rid of knots smoothly.

The best time to get rid of knots is during conditioning. Apply conditioner and run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair.

While untangling dry hair, do so in sections. Take one section at a time, and first, untangle the ends of your hair. Do so slowly, and don?t pull unless you want your hair to fall out in clumps or break.

Don?t wait for the last minute before detangling your hair. Every night, while sitting in front of the television, run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair, until you have untangled it completely. Do this every night, and you will notice that your hair remains free from tangles.

Leave-in conditioner

Dry hair tends to tangle easily, and, needless to say, causes it to break. Make sure your hair is never devoid of moisture by always keeping a bottle of leave-in conditioner handy. The next time you feel your hair is dry and rough to the touch, simply rub a dollop of leave-in conditioner between your palms, and apply it to your hair. Comb through with your wide toothed comb. Your hair will be instantly rejuvenated and moisturized. Gradually, the texture will also improve. This is a must if you blow dry your hair regularly, or if it is chemically treated. Such hair constantly craves moisture, so get yourself a bottle of leave-in conditioner.

Oil

Olive, almond and coconut oils are all excellent for the hair. While you could apply oil as an alternative to leave-in conditioner, oil tends to make your hair sticky, and you cannot style your hair well after applying oil. Your only alternative would then be to tie up your hair. For better results with oil, apply just a few drops immediately after washing your hair, when your hair is still dripping wet. Oil doesn?t penetrate the strands as easily as leave-in conditioner does though. Nothing beats a hot oil massage followed by a steam treatment, as the steam helps the oil penetrate the hair strands, strengthening them and curtailing hair fall.

Egg

Egg is great for the hair ? there are no two ways about it! True, it causes a tremendous stink in the bathroom, and your hair may let off an ?eggy? smell, but the results are instantaneous and worth it! Egg strengthens your hair almost immediately, and the egg yolk leaves your hair shining. Whip an egg with two tablespoons of olive oil and apply it to your hair. Wash off after half an hour. Make sure you wash off with cold water though, or the egg will start cooking in your hair, and would be harder to take off! Use a scented shampoo to counter the smell of egg in your hair, and follow up with a leave-in conditioner. Do this for a month, and you will be amazed by the change in your hair texture and the reduction in hair fall.

The HAIR ON THE BACK OF MY HEAD IS REALLY FALLING OUT, HELP I NEED MY HAIR BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

it's because of the ponytails. even if they aren't tight, it still affects it. go to a hairdresser than specializes in textured hair such as yours. they should know what to do. it might also be your diet, and what you eat.

The HAIR ON THE BACK OF MY HEAD IS REALLY FALLING OUT, HELP I NEED MY HAIR BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

You could get hair extensions. Thats the problem with african american hair is that it can get dry and brake off very easily. The perming might have something to do with it, so maybe you should only get two a year instead of three. and maybe yuo should also take showers less. Good Luck!

i use this oil and it really works and I'm on the web site and i love it my names is PB and i have been using this oil for a while now and it can be bought oil e at the web site it self or at sally's beauty stores for like 7.99 and it's for all hair types i mean alll types and it's al natural and if you have any question email me I'll be happy to help you

The HAIR ON THE BACK OF MY HEAD IS REALLY FALLING OUT, HELP I NEED MY HAIR BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

wow.. I'll ignore the not bull**** part of your question and the fact that your 14 saying that.

But its definitely the ponytail.. It doesn't matter if its tight or not your constantly pulling you hair into that ponytail and alittle bit at a time your strands of hair are gonna break..So to grow it back i would suggest to do sow in weave just for the back of your hair so you can give your natural hair a chance to grow and it won't look crazy.

Good Luck with the sow in weave.

For females who joined the marines...?

what were you allowed to bring to boot camp and are cornrows or micro braids exceptable? (because i have african american type hair and its way easier to deal with it in those styles.) just wondering.

For females who joined the marines...?

Multiple braids were allowed when I was in. Regulations change from time to time and you will be taught male and female regulations in boot camp.

Here is a link. Check it out! :)

Good luck in boot camp and keep a positive attitude.

http://www.marcorsyscom.usmc.mil/sites/m...

For females who joined the marines...?

Goodluck as you set forth .............i think you will be using a cap most times?

For females who joined the marines...?

No, everyone has to look the same. All women have to look the same and all men have to look the same. If you don't like your hair the way it is, cut it off.

For females who joined the marines...?

There is two hair styles allowed in uniform: hair not touching your shoulder blades can be left alone or tied up, it your hair is longer then it has to be in a bun, with no hair hanging down on your face (female DI's will teach you.) The way your hair is probably fine but then again, I have not seen a female Marine with micro braids or cornrows as of yet.

For females who joined the marines...?

They will shave your head.

What can I use to dye my hair?

I play basketball and I don't want to use a product that would bleed on my clothes as I sweat. I also don't want to use one that would break my hair. In case you need the information, I'm an african american girl

What can I use to dye my hair?

go to a salon

they can tell you

they specialize in hair

so they can tell you better

What can I use to dye my hair?

Kool Aid

What can I use to dye my hair?

it matters if you chemically treated Ur hair

Please help my hair??

I am malado with terrible hair its not coarse like african americans but tis not like caccasion (sp) women either its really thick i wouldnt say its curly more like wavy its been dyed numerous times and i know this completely ruined it its so dry and frizzy i try all kinds of products even been to the hair dresser for deep conditioning and its still dry as heck i have to use freeze hairspray when i style it or i would have the biggest fro i tried grease but its to heavy for my hair and i look like i havent washed it in years i have no idea what to do i do wash it everyday to get the hairspray out also condition everyday i towel dry it by wrapping the towel around it for 5 minutes then comb it into a style

Please help my hair??

First of all you shouldn't keep using so many products, that can dry your hair out, also its not good to wash your hair everyday cuz it takes vitamins outta your hair. I would find 1 good product for frizziness and just use that for a while, and see how it works, if it doesn't then ask a stylist what to use.

Please help my hair??

You really need to take it easy on your hair for a while. If you want it helathy again you have to go a while without doing things to it. I mean anything. The hairspray is making it worse. Keep doing the deep conditioning treatments. Make sure your hairdresser is using one of the warm conditioning treatments. Ask her to also add some color but with a really low volume (like 10). Just wash and air dry. Also, it's not good to keep your hair wrapped in a towel, especially if it's damaged. It just causes breakage. Use the towel to sqeeze the water out, but that's it. Good Luck!

Please help my hair??

With your type of hair you might consider using alcohol free products.

Try using Paul Brown Diamond Heads. It's a light oil for hair. I have fine curly hair and it works great. Tames frizz without weighing down too much. After using that put on some gel or mousse (alcohol free of course). Stay away from hairspray. The gel/mousse should keep you in place.

Don't wash your hair every day, but condition every day. Redken Butter Treat is a great heavy conditioner. Kind of expensive and comes in a rather small tube, but works great.

Please help my hair??

If your hair is past your shoulders I'd recommend cutting off maybe a couple inches and use leave in conditioner, biolage has a really good one that doesn't make hair really oily. There conditioning shampoo works really well to.

Why do people of African Descent dis credit being of that?

One of my closes friends by the name of Ralita Vasquez is black. BUT she does'nt count herself as that.. she's of Afro-Cuban descent her parents says she's black and they count themselves as black. On her pyhsical papers to play school sports and job applications she repeatedly marks Latino/Hispanic when her parents mark African American Descent, she says she's Cuban because she's Light Skinned and have long silky hair. It's like she's ashame of being Black.

So I came to ask for some of you guys thoughts.

Smart people are a plus!

Why do people of African Descent dis credit being of that?

Well this seems to be another one of those "I need to be exotic" stories. Athough I seen it the other way around when latinos select black or the just check both latino and black. I noticed as time goes on they tend to fall in line on the black side once they realize white hispanics look down on them.

Why do people of African Descent dis credit being of that?

well technically she could mark down latino/hispanic because she belongs to that ethnic group, BUT that's kind of sad that she doesn't acknowledge her African side. Many Cubans are of African descent.

Why do people of African Descent dis credit being of that?

i hate when people do that but them again people can choose to label themselves what they want...

i am so proud to be of african descent its not even funny!! if i was any other ethnic group id seriously hang myself..being black is the best thing to ever happen to me..i honestly believe being born black is a blessing from the universe..call me c0cky but im just proud to be who i am

Why do people of African Descent dis credit being of that?

Well, nothing about this idea of race and ethnicity is as simple as black and white. Race especially because it is a concept constructed by humans. The fact is that many Hispanic nations are directly connected to Africa. Dominican Republic, Cuba and even other nations such as Jamaica etc. So really, it comes down to what that person choses to represent. Actually in this case, when it comes to legal paperwork, she's probably more accurately answering by checking the Hispanic box.

Also, please try and remember that Black is referring to a race not a skin color.

Why do people of African Descent dis credit being of that?

maybe she feels her latino side ( the name gives up heritage somewhere down the line ) shows more than her african american side - so she sides with this culture - maybe she feels it will be easier in the future to be known in buisiness as latino instead of black - i feel she should mark other and put down biracial -

if you want to you could ask her some things about her culture and why she sides with latinos more than african americans - see if she just uses it as a getaway or is she truely rooted to her latino culture - then maybe that would help you decide if you should really let this even bother you -

Why do people of African Descent dis credit being of that?

We all know "why"she doesn't acknowledge her african ancestry.Anyone who has lived enough knows that we are not appreciated by all races,be they white, latino, asian due to negative stereotypes, legacies of racism, but I will note that the dark skinned latinos who live anywhere in south america,be they from costa rica, puerto rico, colombia, brazil for example are held in lower regard compared to their ligher skinned long haired latinos.

It is not unique to America, cuba or a few countries, its everywhere around the world.

Why do people of African Descent dis credit being of that?

Take out the color black and it will alleviate half of the problem. Unless she is as dark as tar she is not "black". You can't base ethnic group on skin tone. She is of Hispanic/Latin descent. That is their language, their country. There is no African Cuban box to check on any forms that I know of so the closest thing for her to check would be hispanic/latino. Her parents choosing to claim African as their base nationality is THEIR choice and it's correct also. There is no harm done either way. They are BOTH correct.

Why do people of African Descent dis credit being of that?

If that's how she sees herself, then let her be. There are a lot of people from different countries that come to America to embrace their roots in this country. Once they become citizens, they proudly claim themselves as Americans.

Perhaps your friend just feels more Latina/Hispanic based on how close she feels to them culturally. Just accept how she sees herself from the inside rather than the outside.

Why do people of African Descent dis credit being of that?

Basically what it all boils down to is wanting to be something special. And when i say that i mean something other than Black. Or shall i say more than Black/African American. Black in America is look on as being negative and she wants to give her self a edge...so she thinks. For me being Afro Rican and Afro Cuban and African American i could say Latino.... But why? I'm Black and proud! People of African descent now days feel the need to say other...because it makes them think that they are something different. But in all reality Black is Black no matter where you come from. When you walk down the street....and a cop says i see a black male he doesn't say i see a black latino....no...just black. People need to accept who they are and be happy with it. Until then they will always feel the need to explain...who they are. When in all reality...they are just Black!!!! I spend a lot of time in NYC and the Black Latinos i know love being black. Yeah they may say I'm Rican or Dominican....but still BLACK!!!

Why do people of African Descent dis credit being of that?

Maybe she doesn't want to belong to a group, maybe she just wants to be herself. Why does she have to be classified? Why are you so concerned? Is her "identification" going to make you more or less who you are?

What is the best way for a guy to get his hair straight so it doesnt curl back after a shower?

What i mean by this is like if your hair is pretty curly, not like african american curly, but cacasian, and your sick of it and just want wavy hair(not even straight hair cause its so hard to achieve), what is the best product(thats not that expensive) to get so you dont have to worry about your hair curling back after you take a shower. Please, answer with names of products that you have actually used and they worked for you.

What is the best way for a guy to get his hair straight so it doesnt curl back after a shower?

Hi,

i don get it...why people wanna straighten their hair...curls are cool(if you're girl and blonde/brownish) but for a guy guess what cut it short and spike it up man

What is the best way for a guy to get his hair straight so it doesnt curl back after a shower?

They have an at home treatment at wal*mart by the shampoo no more then $10 and lasts about 2-3months. Good luck!

I need to know?( what shampoo for my type hair.)?

O.k i'm african american and i need to know all the shampoos that would probably work for my hair, and if its not to wrong can you tell me the best thing to do to my hair after washing and conditioning.I really need to know becaues i want my hair to grow really long my hair touches the back of my neck but the front of my hair just touches my forhead then it gets longer as it leads to the back of my neck. But what im trying to say is that i want my hair all equal .

I need to know?( what shampoo for my type hair.)?

ok. i am a black stylist in the LA area and i do generally all african american hair. i use Kera Care shampoo and conditioner...it doesnt dry out our hair, it leaves some growth oils in so that there is no need to pile it with greases and oils afterwards. after you wash it and condition it, use a small amount of grease and have someone grease your scalp, and also comb your hair while the conditioner is in to get rid of tight curls. what people forget to do when they want their hair to grow is getting their ends trimmed.DO IT! it is the only way that your hair CAN grow, and too much HEAT breaks our(african american) hair in just a matter of seconds, so when ever possible, roller set it instead of flat ironing into a wrap...the best method is going to a professional.

I need to know?( what shampoo for my type hair.)?

Well not all african american girls essentially have the same hair.. I'd say it depends on your hair type and the look your going for. If you want it to be straight then consider a flat iron...

I need to know?( what shampoo for my type hair.)?

At places like WalMart they have an ethnic section with hair products for african american type hair. I use SoftSheen-Carson Oil Therapy shampoo and Pantene Relaxed and Natural deep conditioner. They work great....

After you wash you're hair, braid it. Braiding makes your hair grow faster.

I need to know?( what shampoo for my type hair.)?

Try Pantene.

I need to know?( what shampoo for my type hair.)?

i would try shampoos and conditioners from the ethnic section, and you might want to try Tresemme and John Frieda.

To make it grow, eat healthy and make sure to moisturize. Try not to use heat unless you have to.

I need to know?( what shampoo for my type hair.)?

try creme of natural

I need to know?( what shampoo for my type hair.)?

Creme of Nature worked well for me for a couple of years but I started using Pantene for Women of Color (shampoo and conditioner) and made sure I went to the salon regularly and had my ends trimmed each time I got a relaxer put in. My hair grows uneven too. That is what scissors are for. Your hair will grow if you take care of it. Make sure you take your vitamins and drink water too. If you are spiritual, you can always pray for it to happen. I did and it worked for me. Just my opinion and testimony though! Good luck.

I need to know?( what shampoo for my type hair.)?

Vive has a new one for "women of color" its specifically designed for women who perm their hair.

Hair breakage and I dont use chems, color or heat!?

Im African American and I have been wearing my hair natural since June of last year. My hair is verrrry coarse and tight in its natural state. I use verrrry minimal heat, I blow dry it once a month for about 5-10 mins so it doesnt even come close to being straight, and I dont use any chems. Every night I twist it into about 30 twists to keep it manageable, and a few nights a week I add olive oil. I take the hair, skin and nails multi vitamin from GNC. I trim every few weeks, so why are the ends breaking off, and why does it sometimes feel brittle? Some are clearly split, others are just little hairs. Since I dont do anything to damage my hair, what is the problem? Should I be worried? What do you suggest?

Hair breakage and I dont use chems, color or heat!?

u need a hot oil treatment ...its not a chem but i moisturises your hair and scalp it seems your having problems b/c of your scalp being dry and scalling

Hair breakage and I dont use chems, color or heat!?

have your thyroid checked!

Hair breakage and I dont use chems, color or heat!?

Do you pull it back a lot? Even twisting it could be what is happening. I would not worry unless it is falling out. However the twisting and if you pull it back could be causing the breakage.

Hair breakage and I dont use chems, color or heat!?

it could be how you comb/brush your hair. Only comb brush your hair when it is wet and has some conditioner in it. it could also be hair how you chose to transition to your natural hair. it also could be your hair growing out damaged because of the chemicals you use to put in it.

Sew in weaves human hair?

Hey everyone, Im a African-American woman looking to get a sew in weave. I have shoulder length permed hair and im lookin for information about getting a sew in. I need to know how long it lasts, what kind (brand) of hair is good, price range for this service and tips to finding a good stylist. any additional advice would be helpful.

Sew in weaves human hair?

When I get my hair sewn in it usually last 3 months. My stylist braids my hair tightly so it would last. He prefers to use Black Diamond yacky hair because it doesnt shed. Don't use silky straight hair because it looks tacky after a couple of days.I pay him 185.00 and the hair is 65.00 a bag.

What are the physical apperance between african european native american hispanic latino?

reguardinng types of hair,lips,eyes,skincolo

What are the physical apperance between african european native american hispanic latino?

because there are different climates and people are essentially animals and as animals we have to adapt and we adapt our bodies change there giving us diff characteristics. black people are black because africa having a cllimate lets us absorb energy and prevents sunburn, and also explains why we have larger nostrils

What are the physical apperance between african european native american hispanic latino?

Hispanic and latino is not a race. How can I describe them?

What should i use on my hair?

i'm african american and i don't know what the best stuff is for my hair is

What should i use on my hair?

Theres an ethnic section in every pharmacy, and grocery store, for African Americans, and hispanics, but this is mostly for course, or very thick hair. there's such a wide variety of products, that it's best to go down there, and read the box, to find out what YOU want to do. a good hair relaxer is always good. for example a 'cholesterol' it wil soften the hair, for easier styling.

its hard to determin what you should use, unless you estabilsh what style you want first.

All you have to do is read the side or back of the containers, or jars, if you're looking for a hair treatment cream, gel or spray.

If you're looking for a style, anything closer to the scalp is probably better. it would take less time to manage your hair, especially if you like to over sleep. Longer hair requires more indulged hair styles, that have to be maintained, some styles are unable to be cleaned out, and have to stay like that, until you cut it out, other styles like corn rows, and other tight styles, take some people many hours to complete, sometimes, in the course of two days.

So whatever you have time for, and how much effort yo uwant to put into it...

if your old enough to have facial hair. that is a huge plus, if you cut your hair, medium or short, and you have the right style facial hair, you'd definantly be in your own style.

I want my hair to look like this...i need help!?

http://i3.tinypic.com/4gorn03.jpg

I already have naturally curly hair (i am a mixed race girl-african american, indian and white. but my curly hair tends to look frizzy, poofy and have less curls in some areas.)

This girl's hair is perfect. Her hair is all nice in curly and long and its shiny too. I want my hair to look like this.

Anyone have any ideas or tips on what products I should use and what steps I should do?

I want my hair to look like this...i need help!?

Infusium.

I want my hair to look like this...i need help!?

Try hair serums. You can get ones that add shine and reduce frizziness. You could also buy a curl perfecting product.

Oh, and don't brush your hair. Use a wide toothed comb if necessary. Brushing will just make it frizzier.

I want my hair to look like this...i need help!?

There are lines of products that are for keeping your hair curly. Pantene Pro V has a line for defining your curls called hydrating curls and Garnier Fructis has one called Curl and Shine.

I want my hair to look like this...i need help!?

Bring a copy of the picture to your regular salon where you usually get your hair done, show the picture to your hairdresser and as she does the hairdo for you, ask her how you can maintain the style by yourself step by step.

I want my hair to look like this...i need help!?

Hey. That is a great hair style you have chosen. With gel or mousse on your hands, scrunch up your curls and they should look like the picture. As for shine, the gel and mousse may do this minimally but change your shampoo to a shine one

I want my hair to look like this...i need help!?

I have curly hair as well. It's taken me over 20 years to grow to love it and to learn how to style it. Like a person above suggested, buy the Garnier Fructis Curl and Shine shampoo. It works great. Also as suggested above, use a wide-toothed comb when doing your hair. Try using a diffuser (or an attachment) instead of a hair dryer by itself. That will make the hair frizzy. I don't like the hair serums since they tend to be sticky and make my hair look like I used too much gel. Another product to try would be Springing Curls (I think) by L'Oreal. It works great on keeping my curls seperated and not frizzy. Hope this helps.

I want my hair to look like this...i need help!?

use a serum but if you don't like the oily feeling(I don't) use mouse and hairspray, that seems to be the only thing working for me so far but the only downfall is the "crispy" feeling. It's whatever works for you.

I want my hair to look like this...i need help!?

My hair is like the girls in the picture..I use Garnier Fructis Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner....Sleek %26amp; Shine......I use a wide toothed Detangling comb in the shower....after rinsing the conditioner out...I make sure I just dab my hair to get the exess water off...afterwards, while hair is still wet....I put in Garnier Fructis Leave in Conditioner...which leaves my hair soft.....then I put in a frizz control.....which I use something like Soft Curls...from Garnier Fructis......

I THEN take a pure cotton T-shirt %26amp; roll my hair into it...kind of like a turban...this squeezes out the water, without OVER drying the hair...I leave it on for about 15-20 min's.....make sure it is pure cotton...poly/cotton blends will actually take the natural oils from your hair, leaving it dry %26amp; frizzy...also using silk pillowcases will help keep hair from getting frizzy too....

After taking Turban off..allow hair to airdry the rest of the way...dont brush or comb your hair after, allow hair to take its natural curl...you can also twist hair around finger to get more difined curls..

These are things I do to my hair...my hair goes to my butt...%26amp; is naturally curly...these are some tricks I have learned through the yrs. %26amp; I get lots of compliments about my hair...

Good Luck...

Help With going natural with my hair?

Okay,i am a 13 year old African American girl, and I was wondering, how can itell which part of my hair is the permed part and which is the chemically relaxed part?Which part do you cut?and how much%26gt;(Im going natrual)

Help With going natural with my hair?

im black also..just went natural after realizing perm is the devil. Your natural hair will be a bit more "nappy" harder to comb and the perm will look silky/straight. to promote growth cut the ends of your hair as the perm also dies. but really unless your hair is bad dont cut anything.

Help With going natural with my hair?

first put your hair in braids.. then once u start to see the new growth you can make a choice whether u want to cut the peremd hair off or continue to grow ur hair (naturally) once it reaches a certain lenght.. since u cant even tell which part of ur hair is natural.. that means that your hair is tooo short.. like the new growth.. wait for it to grow a little more.. everyones hair (african americans/ mixed) is different.. so u never know.. my mom is black and she went natural with her hair, it grows in a zigzag patter.. she is type 4b and 4c hair.. im 3c and 3b hair.. (Im mixed with jamican and german).. anyways hope i helped!! %26lt;33333333

Help With going natural with my hair?

it should be two textures in your scalp , a part thats still straight , and a part thats "not so straight" that is the natural part , and the straight part is the relaxed part , you cut that part . I would let a stylist do it . Also , ur probably gonna lose a lot of hair , so think carefully about this

good luck in your endeavor

Help With going natural with my hair?

cut where your hair texture changes. the hair that grows form your hair is probably a different texture than the relaxed hair. you cut off all of the relaxed hair to become fully natural.

www.motowngirl.com

Help With going natural with my hair?

I am natural and it's nice to see you want to be natural too.

The best way to see which part is relaxed and which isn't is to wet the hair. When your hair is wet you can see the different textures. Also, ask someone else to cut for you so it's even. You cut off all the relaxed hair to right where your new growth is.

Good luck and visit nappturality.com for more tips.

Help With going natural with my hair?

The relaxed hair is straight, and easy to run your fingers through. The natural hair is more coarse, thicker, and hard to run your fingers through. The thing is if you're planning to cut off your relaxed hair, you will be cutting off basically all of your hair. This is why it is referred to as the "big cut", because you'll be starting from scratch. I also have a relaxer, and don't want anymore of the chemical in my hair, but I don't want to cut off all of my hair. So I just got a hair cut to remove the dead ends, and now I just try and take care of it better.

Look at these sites, they are really helpful in maintaining your hair:

http://members.fotki.com/BranNubian/abou...

http://members.fotki.com/sylver2/about/

http://www.growafrohairlong.com/

Help With going natural with my hair?

You can tell where the hair goes from thick to thin. When I grew my hair out naturally I used hair bands and stylish scarves to cover the new growth until I was ready to cut the perm part out. I let it grow to a workable length and had a beautician cut it into a nice style

Help With going natural with my hair?

Do not cut anything. Let the relaxer grow out. You can tell which is the natural hair is by the new growth. The new growth is not as straight as the relaxed part.

Im african america and my hair iz dirty?

when i scratch my hair dirt in grease comes out i have micros but if i wash it the short part will come out any body know a good afican american shampoo and conditioner how can i get my short broke off part to grow back

Im african america and my hair iz dirty?

You are either an African or an American. You cannot be both. It's called soap. I think both Africans and Americans use it. Try it.

Im african america and my hair iz dirty?

you can stop being black

Im african america and my hair iz dirty?

i am not african american i am latin but i've had a lot of friends with this problem and what i've recomended to them is to wash their hair atleast 3 times out of the week and have some kind of treatment especially for your hairstyle and that way you will keep your hair healthy and clean. try looking online for a treatment you will find so many products that will help. ;-)

Im african america and my hair iz dirty?

Either was that nasty head or cut all your hair off. Nappyass.

Im african america and my hair iz dirty?

Hey **** u too ***** i actually thought this was a white person pretending to be black cuz it didnt sound like a real question. IT sounded more like u were putting yourself down! So just do this. WASH YOUR DIRTY NAPPY *** HAIR WITH SOAP AND WATER *****!

Im african america and my hair iz dirty?

Well, first you need to rid your hair of all the dirt, grease, and grim. The easiest way to do it is get some sea breeze the kind for your face and put it on a rag and clean your scalp with it, fallow this with a lite scalp conditioner or grease. To much grease is a bad thing so don't grease it to much. If you have micros that is not good for your hair if it is already broken off. you need braids a little bigger than that. also you need to keep your ends cut so your hair can start to grow back.

Im african america and my hair iz dirty?

there is a product called Motions CPR.

they have excellent anti-breakage shampoo and a conditioner that you leav in for a few minutes and it immedeately stops breaking within an instant.

Im african america and my hair iz dirty?

Please remove the micros. They aren't meant to be worn for longer than two months. Next time you get micros, get the "No Rinse shampoo" which is sold at Sallys. Another option would be ORS Latherless shampoo or Seabreeze. When you take the shampoo out, you can use a clarifying shampoo such as Creme of Nature Gentle clarifying shampoo. Use this shampoo once every two months. Then follow up with Creme of Nature shampoo for dry, damaged hair. You can also try Elasta QP shampoo, either the conditioning or relaxed formula. Also deep condition your hair with Lustrasilk Shea Butter cholesterol or Creme of Nature nourishing conditioner. Another option would be Elasta QP DPR-11 or Intense (by the same brand). For more info go to http://forum.blackhairmedia.com Good luck.

hmm... u should do your hair like rihannas. cut it short and then do the bangs straight across. I got my bangs cut like that and i've had non stop compliments.

I hate My Hair! Please help! Need Of New do!?

The best thing you can do to get a cute hairstyle is to keep it simple, and bring a picture to your hairstylist. If you don't show them a picture than they aren't going to know what you want. I would advise you to go with a style that isn't going to take more than 10 minutes to fix before school.

If you like curlier hair I think this style is pretty cute.

Suggestions as to how to maintain mixed hair after swimmming?

Here's the deal. I was forced to take swim in my school, and my biggest concern was my hair. I don't have tight nappy curls, but my hair is just thick, and like, african american to the touch, but wavier. It's half black/half spanish.

My hair, if kept in a bun from when I get outta the pool, will stay wet for the rest of the day. Suggestions as to how to keep my hair looking pretty, not too frizzy, but manageable and brushable (after swimming, its like in princess diaries when the brush gets stuck in the hair, no joke.)

Suggestions as to how to maintain mixed hair after swimmming?

She's right...making sure to washout the chlorine is important but as far as the other styling, I'm not sure what to suggest. Do you have time for a blow dryer? At least to get the majority of it dry. Then using a light moisturizer to style would be the fastest. Until that swim class is over, there isn't going to be too much styling. I understand...I had to run track and practice in the middle of the day. It was hard tryin to get my hair back to bein cute after sweatin bullets for an hour and a half.

Suggestions as to how to maintain mixed hair after swimmming?

if you have a bar of soap at school use it to wash your hair from the clorine and then brush it.it will be a lot easier on you and yor hair.

I know that curly baby hair can often be just the baby hair and that sometimes it is just curly...?

but what I wanted to know is if the spots that your baby rubbed out on his head came back straight then does that mean their hair may turn out straight? I love mys son's curls and I thought his hair would stay curly. Will it change again? I don't want to cut his hair when he is old enough because I love the curls BUT he has curly on the top and down the middle of the back of his head and straight on the sides so I know I will have to!!! haha

My son is African American (daddy) and Caucasion (momma) but we both have native american and he has philipino and caucasion too - I don't know if this contributes to why his hair might be straight though. I know genetics is a wacky thing so I am not trying to have anyone predict...I just wanted to know some experiences with your baby's hair. Thanks in advance!

I know that curly baby hair can often be just the baby hair and that sometimes it is just curly...?

Since your son is a mixed etnicity I bet its going to end up curly. I would not cut his hair. Its still goin to change as he grows. Its all a question of genetics. Don't worry too much about it .

I know that curly baby hair can often be just the baby hair and that sometimes it is just curly...?

My son's hair was curly at first but turned out straight. My daughter's hair was straight from the very beginning. You just never know until it grows out a bit more.

Natural hair question...?

I'm a professional black (african american) woman and I recently decided to stop getting relaxers and let my my hair grow natural. I've had a relaxer since I was 7. My mother thinks its a terrible idea. She thinks that wearing my hair natural isn't professional. I am a office manager for a corporate real estate firm and I am the only black there. My mother thinks that my job would be in jeopardy if I change my look. Are there any other professional women or men that wear their hair natural? What advice do you have? Who's right me or my mom? Thank you in advance.

Natural hair question...?

Of course not, and it is a great idea.

Natural hair question...?

I am not black, but I hope you will consider my response as I am an educated woman holding a highly skilled professional job.

I believe that we are judged on our abilities to do our jobs. So long as we look (neat, conservatively dressed, clean, etc...) and act in a professional manner, then the rest is irrelevant.

So I'm with you -- let your hair go natural. Just keep it clean (as I'm sure you do) and it will be fine.

Natural hair question...?

If you get fired because of your hair then you have the right to sue. For millions. Girl let your natural hair grow!!!!!!!!

Natural hair question...?

Dont be afraid of your natural hair, i have very curly hair although im not black and for years I straightened it, only recently i decided to let it go natural and its never been in better shape or looked so good. try getting some really good products with it, experiment!

Natural hair question...?

I think as long as you are well groomed it should be fine just as for anyone else. Are you good friends w/ your co-workers? if you are, then it really shouldnt be a problem.

Natural hair question...?

Oprah wears her hair in many styles but then she can afford to. She's her own person.

Check out some professional magazines and pay particular attention to the hair styles of those like you.

It is your hair but you don't want to jeopardize your job. Do remember "mother is always right" at least most of the time.

Natural hair question...?

WEAR IT THE WAY YOU LIKE ..IF YOUR BOSS SAYS SOMETHING THEN CHANGE IT BACK .

Natural hair question...?

I'm a black woman who also wants to stop perming hair, and who has a mother who doesn't like that idea..

I would say, that as long as your hair is well kept, you should do it...we have great hair, and we should take pride in it!

Your mom, as mine only have our best interests at heart, but it doesn't mean they're right..

I say, find a hairdresser that takes care of natural black hair really well, and go for it..

Hey..I should take my own advice..!! Tired of burned scalps!!

Natural hair question...?

It depends on how you intend on wearing your hair naturally. As long as it is neat, no frizz, and well maintained then go for it. As a professional it is important to look well manicured. If you pick a style that makes you feel insecure it will destroy your whole look. Your hair is important in defining your whole look because that is what most people see first.

I would discuss this with a professional beautician on what choices would be best and then present your new look to your family and friends to get their opinions first before you go to the office. I wouldn't go for the dreadlock look, sorry.

Good luck!

Natural hair question...?

Hair really isnt a concern as long as its GROOMED. The next thing is healthy skin and teeth.

Hair is really a small factor in the overall total package. Youll be amazed at what a great smile and a healthy complexion can do.

Natural hair question...?

If your job has a problem with your HAIR and not your performance, that's discrimination. As long as you're not wearing a fro that blocks the view of your coworkers or something, you're fine. If you want a more "professional" look while natural, try twist outs, an upswept bun or you can flat iron it straight. there are plenty of styles that work here: www.curlyhairsalon.com

I think your mother may not be comfortable with natural hair, and this may be her way of trying to scare you straight - don't do it %26amp; %26amp; good luck!

Natural hair question...?

Go natural....but keep it tame. And as long as it doesnt cause a comotion and you still work as well as you did before...then all should be fine..=)

Any IDEAS on what kind of hairstyle would look good on me?

There is a haircut that is really short and tight to the head and is kind of wavy. I am not sure of the name of it but you have the perfect face for it.

Any IDEAS on what kind of hairstyle would look good on me?

i think it's pretty in a bun. but you can always make a french braid out of it..but then you'll have to grow your hair out. french braids look good on everyone.

Any IDEAS on what kind of hairstyle would look good on me?

I'm always a fan of tight dreads in afro-american hair. I think its beautiful and seems pretty easy to maintain...I wouldnt know though. :) I'm always jealous of a gorgeous dark skinned woman with well maintained dreads though, and you wouldnt need to spend a lot of money at a salon for em. :)

Any IDEAS on what kind of hairstyle would look good on me?

try not putting grease in it and just straighten it and washing your hair everyday helps

If Pubic hair contained THC and got you high, could the law make you shave your pubic area? outlaw p

Who smokes their pubic hair? Well nobody. But what if you did try it once and it was stronger than anyone weed on the african American market. Would you smoke it? sell it? Would you roll it up or just smoke it in a pipe?

MORE IMPORTANTLY: Can the government make consumption of pubic hair ILLEGAL and imprison you for letting it grow or having it in your house in a baggy?

If Pubic hair contained THC and got you high, could the law make you shave your pubic area? outlaw pubic hair?

What is wrong with you that you continue to contaminate Yahoo with your "vivid imagination" and made up stories of abuse and misuse. Obviously, tax dollars were wasted in the attempt to educate you!

It's comforting to see that you are running out of points - you will HAVE to go away1

You are an idiot.

You have a lot of time on your hands, don't you?

If Pubic hair contained THC and got you high, could the law make you shave your pubic area? outlaw pubic hair?

Yes. right now your body produces small quantities of natural heroin. If you make a blood filtering machine that will extract this out of your body you can sell it for good money. Go to a Narcotics Annonymous meeting and sell a vial twice a month for 100$ at a time. Problem is that you will be arrested since most of those 'recovering' addicts are also police snitches.

Smoking public hair will hurt your throat. You will sounds like Nancy Reagan after that porn actor with a 18" tool just played yo-yo with her tonsils.

Flat ironing after relaxer?

I have African American relaxed hair and I was wondering can you flat iron (or is it safe to flat iron) your hair a day after you have just relaxed your hair??I want to know because I am going to relax my hair tomorrow and plan on flat ironing it on Sunday.

Flat ironing after relaxer?

yeah you should be ok i flat iron my daughters hair after she permed but it was a just for me it shouldnt be no different though

Flat ironing after relaxer?

NO NO NO .don't do it or you just may loose your hair. The relaxer should give you the desired results so that you will not have to do anything else to your hair other than style and go.

Flat ironing after relaxer?

make sure your using a REAL ceramic flat iron, not the cheap ones that are only plated with a thin coat of ceramic, those are damaging to your hair. But at my old hair salon, they would relax your hair, roller set so it can dry properly then flat iron, my hair always looked beautiful and healthy and havent had a problem. Ceramic irons are perfectly safe on relaxed hair

Flat ironing after relaxer?

yes you can do it but you don't want to overprocess you hair...but hahah i do it all the time and my h air doesnt fall out. make sure you put something like thermasilk or something o prevent it from heat damage before u straighten it though.

Flat ironing after relaxer?

I would suggest that you do not flat iron your hair a day after relaxing because that may cause uneccessary breakage.Try putting your hair in velcro rollers. That works for me when I dont want to straighten my natural hair all the time.Another thing you could try is to try wrapping your hair at night using setting lotion.Put a silk scarf on at night to protect the hair and comb it out the next day.Since your hair is already sensitive after getting the perm, this is a safer option. Hope this is helpful.

My hair is damaged PLEASE Help!?

I need a stylist advice on this. My hair is damaged and coming out. In order to stop this, I was told by someone that I need to cut it all off and start from scratch. I am a 26yr old African American woman and am too afraid of doing that to my hair, if I did that she said I would have to wear wigs or weaves until my own hair grows back. Someone please advise me on what the best thing to do is to get my hair back to growing and healthy

My hair is damaged PLEASE Help!?

here are some home remedies which are very good for dry hair. i had dry hair myself but when i tried these tips it was great! they've never been dry again!

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Beat up on an Egg: Separate the white of an egg from the yolk, and whip the white thoroughly. Then add 1 tablespoon of water to the yolk and blend until the mixture is creamy. Next, mix the white and yolk together. Wet your hair with warm water, remove the excess moisture, and apply the egg mixture to your scalp with your fingertips. Massage gently until the froth is worked into your scalp, and then rinse the hair with cool water. Keep applying the mixture until it is used up. Continue to rinse until all of the egg is washed away

Go for the Mayo: Heat up one half cup of mayonnaise until it becomes an oily, white goo and apply to dry, unwashed hair. Cover your hair with a plastic bag and leave on for at least 15 minutes. Then, rinse and shampoo thoroughly.

Mix up a Tropical Treat: Mash one over-ripe banana (the blacker, the better) with a mushy, rotten avocado. Massage this exotic puree into your hair and leave on for at least 15 minutes before washing out鈥n the kitchen sink!).

Grab a Cold One. Beer can give your dry hair a healthy sheen. Before you blow-dry or style, use a pump bottle to spray brew onto your hair. The beer will leave your hair shiny and sleek and its odor will disappear quickly.

In addition to using these home remedies regularly to avoid dry hair, try the following preventative measures:

Avoid overshampooing. Shampooing can wash away the hair's protective oils, so try washing less often and use a mild shampoo labeled "for dry or damaged hair."

Condition regularly. Conditioners protect the hair鈥檚 cuticle layer from splitting from the shaft. Pick a conditioner that works well for your hair and use it after every shampoo.

Wear a hat. Too much exposure to wind and sun can leave hair thirsty.

Trim off split ends. The biggest problem caused by dry hair is split ends. Schedule a trim every six to eight weeks to keep fraying ends under control.

Ease up on the heat. Heat (in the form of blow dryers, as well as straightening and curling irons) can quickly dry out hair. Let your hair air dry occasionally. Try using plastic cylinder rollers to straighten hair by wrapping slightly moist hair under and around rollers for about 10 minutes. For curling, try using sponge rollers overnight or sleeping with moist braids.

Don't swim without a cap. Use a rubber cap to protect your hair from the damaging effects of chlorine. If you must forgo a cap, rub a spoonful of olive oil into your hair before diving in.

Another thing is also putting in lotion in your hair after you have gotten out of the shower and you can also put in lotion in hair after you have dried it.

Just rub some lotion on your finger tips and run it through your hair evenly.

Also, something that will help your hair is to take COLDshowers. What most people dont know is that if you take hot showers, the heat gets rid of the oils and other things that your hair needs to be kept healty and shiney.

Smash an avocado and mix with jojoba and peppermint oils. Make sure its really smooth you may want to put it in a food processor with a little water. Then apply some to your scalp and the rest on your hair. Massage for a minute or so then put on a plastic cap. Leave for 15 to 30 minutes. The avocado and jojoba oils will moisterize and the peppermint will stimulate your scalp to loosen any dead skin and open your pores. It will feel great. Your hair will grow better and won't be dry. :)

Hope this helps!

If this doesnt help just contact me and i can give you more tips for your dry hair!

My hair is damaged PLEASE Help!?

use kerastase hair products, they are the best.

My hair is damaged PLEASE Help!?

weaves might break it more stick with the wigs, and treat it all the time!

My hair is damaged PLEASE Help!?

yes you would have to cut it, but you dont have to go bald. my hair broke off in the back and i had to cut it short and it grew back wonderfully.

the sooner you cut it the sooner it will grow back. but just get a short hair style and keep it up. i got a-lot of comments on how nice it was..

My hair is damaged PLEASE Help!?

when hair gets severly damaged.. there isnt enough product in the world to get it to become healthy again... shaving it all off sound harsh, but it WOULD grow back healthy... eaither that or just cut it really short, and wait for it to grow out again... it's a naturual process.

i had really damaged hair as well. due to chemical straightening, flat ironing and coloring... i ended up cutting it short.. and it's much healthier now...

good luck!

My hair is damaged PLEASE Help!?

you dont have to shave your hair.just cut the end part of it at least two inches.youve got to use the best conditioner intown.do it everyday, shampoo twice a week only.visit your saloon for hot oil treatment it depends how damaged your hair at least once a month.massage your scalp before sleeping.eat fruit and vegetables and drink a lot of water,it helps make your hair healthy and strong..

My hair is damaged PLEASE Help!?

When your hair grows it is already dead!! So what I can advise you to do as a stylist is if you know a stylist that can get you the Biologe conditioning treatments you will be all set. There is one that is used only in salons and then there is a 5 pack which you purchase and keep up at home. I've tried tons of treatments and I have to say that I think that this one works the best!!! It's a little pricey but I swear by this product. Maybe you can even find it on line if you don't know a stylists personally.

The 1st product is: Biolage cera-repair pro (salon use about 15 dollars in the beauty supply store, but you get a lot of it)

The 2ND product is: Biolage cera-repair (comes with 5 tubes and is about 10 dollars)

Good luck and I hope I helped!!! If worse comes to worse I would shave it and wear wigs you might like a new look every couple of days!!!

My hair is damaged PLEASE Help!?

get some braids. try this website.....http://www.nappturality.com

My hair is damaged PLEASE Help!?

Okay, I've had some hair nightmares. My hair is now past shoulder length. About a year ago I went to get it cut because I had a similar problem as yours. Mine kept breaking off in the back, center of my head. Well, to make a long story short, the stylist cut it really short and I was traumatized. I just now got it this length.

Can you possibly grown the hair at the very top of your head over the bald spot? Then you won't have to cut it all one length. And, if your hair is falling out, how will cutting it all off make it stop? You should tell a stylist to save every last inch she can and tell her the MOST you want cut off i.e. 2 inches, 3 inches, etc. My hair is still shorter in the back center of my head, but no one can tell, because the hair from the top of my head covers it. If I cut it all one length I'd probably have 2 or 3 inches of hair, instead of my long hair. I'd never do that. I love my long hair.

Good luck.

My hair is damaged PLEASE Help!?

Even though it sounds traumatic to cut off your hair, it is probably the best thing for you. One of the wonderful things about hair is that it grows back. Hair grows about 1/4" to 1/2" a month. If you take care of your hair after you cut it, it should grow back in no time at all. In fact, some women look very nice with short hair. While you are growing back your hair you need to be sure and avoid whatever it was that damaged your hair in the first place so you don't have to go through this again. We have a hair repair kit that contains moisturizing and gentle hair products for black and African hair, as well as two books that contain information to help you learn how to take care of your hair without harsh chemicals and wigs or weaves.
